Greece treating Ninis Injury with Care

As you would expect, the Greek National Team isn’t risking anything when it comes to its players ahead of UEFA EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. The same goes for Sotiris Ninis, who was excused from training on Wednesday as the midfielder continues to deal with a shoulder injury.

The Panathinaikos midfielder was forced to leave training on Tuesday after feeling discomfort in his left shoulder. Initial tests came back “clean” Greece’s medical staff reported, but the well-being of the player in the context of EURO 2012 is being considered by the Ethniki.

Sitting out of Wednesday’s training session, the final preparation for Greece ahead of Thursday’s friendly against Armenia in Kufstein, Austria, Ninis’ absence is fortunately just precautionary measure and not worrying.

Ninis likely won’t take part in the friendly against Armenia, joining Vassilis Torosidis on the sidelines for Greece as the latter continues to recover from a swollen knee.
